Responsible Gambling
Gambling should be entertainment with a budget, never a way to make money or to solve a money problem. This page sets out the tools every player should use and where to get free, confidential help.
Before you play
- Decide how much you can afford to lose this month and treat it as the cost of entertainment.
- Set a deposit limit in your account settings before your first deposit, not after a loss.
- Never gamble with borrowed money, rent money or money set aside for bills.
- Do not play when you are upset, tired or under the influence of alcohol.
Tools the operator provides
Online Pokies AU offers deposit limits, loss limits, session reminders, time-outs and self-exclusion. These are found in the account or "responsible gaming" section once you are logged in, and support can enable them for you on request. A limit you lower applies at once; a limit you raise applies only after a cooling-off period.
Warning signs
- Chasing losses, or increasing stakes to feel the same excitement.
- Hiding how much time or money you spend from people close to you.
- Gambling to escape worry, or feeling restless when you try to stop.
- Borrowing, selling things or missing payments because of gambling.
If two or more of these sound familiar, take a break now and talk to someone.
Free help

Under 18
Gambling is for adults only. Operators verify age and identity before a withdrawal, and an account opened by a minor is closed with any winnings forfeited. If you share a device with children, use parental-control software and keep your login details private.
